The Measures of Academic Progress and Primary Measures of Academic Progress are computerized assessments designed to help educators differentiate instruction based on the individual learning needs of students. These assessments are dynamic, in that they will adapt to a child’s academic level during the course of the test. The MAP and P-MAP are individualized for each student, in order to provide a more specific measure of how each student is progressing in achieving the state and national curriculum standards.
The MAP and P-MAP will be administered three times during the 2010-2011 school year. The first administration will occur in the Fall. The second administration will take place in the Winter, and the third administration will take place in the spring, in order to measure student growth during the school year. The results of these assessments will be maintained over time, so that parents will be able to see a child’s individual academic growth through the years. This intuitive tool will help teachers make the best decisions regarding instructional and curriculum planning. Additional information regarding the Measures of Academic Progress can be accessed through the links found below.
The following chart indicates the grade levels which will be assessed, as well as the content areas to be assessed at each level.
