Parent Involvement

Family Fun Nights - One Friday a month, a Harborview classroom holds an evening of games, crafts, computer time, and refreshments. Admission is $10 per child for one session of play. Send your child to school for the evening, or volunteer to help lead Friday activities. Children 5 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent.

Scholastic Books - Order books for your children when they bring a scholastic order form home. A portion of the proceeds goes directly to your child’s classroom to help with books and supplies. Or shop at one of the two scholastic book fairs and help to support the library.

Box Tops, A & P Receipts - The PTA collects these items to submit for cash and merchandise for the school. We ask all parents to turn their Box Tops and A & P Receipts to the office. Volunteers are needed to help collect and prepare them to be submitted to the companies. This takes about 1-2 hours per month.

Room Parents - Positions needed: 1-2 room parents per teacher. Room parents assist the teachers with day to day activities (such as making copies, decorating bulletin boards, etc.) as well as chaperoning field trips and planning class parties. The time commitment for room parents is 4-6 hours per month.

Volunteer -  Parents are welcome on the playground, in the lunchroom, in the classroom, and at special events. Give some of your time to support the school. Ask your child’s teacher how you can participate.
